Daddy would've gotten us Uzis...
Jan. 4th, 2007 07:03 amProgram Alert! 10:30 am Eastern, this morning. 7:30 Pacific. On the ever-popular "FLIX" channel, a sort of bad-neighborhood sibling of Showtime.
Night Of The Comet. My absolute favorite zombie apocalypse science fiction movie. Rarely screened. Murky copyright issues. The negative long thought lost. Etcetera.
Thom Eberhardt directed it. A clever, imaginative re-invention/parody of zombie movies, end-of-the-world stories, teen movies, you name it. Funny, scary, twisted, timeless. It's one of the best movies the 80s produced. A classic. That's an overused word, but in this case it's an understatement.
I suggest you go watch it. I may join you, since I've been laying in bed staring at the ceiling for two hours. Or I could just try and sleep again. Who knows? Maybe it'll work this time. It's on again this afternoon/evening, too. In case you're working or something.
