11:30pm Thursday. Exiting a showing of "Fay Grim" at the Pacific Film Archive. Jaw hanging half open. Hal Hartley is a genius. Soon everyone will know it. I, on the other hand, am a talentless hack. Soon I will be directing traffic in a parking lot. It is raining. I am cold. Will I live long enough to learn how to write and direct like that? Doubtful. I need a sandwich. Note to self: remember to ask Urbaniak what was really in the Hand Cranked Viewmaster Widget.
